“Solar Drive” – News about this Michael movie!

We’ve heard about the movie “Solar Drive” a few years ago, but it seems that the project will be developed the next year!

Here the answear of Julian West, a commercial director and independent filmmaker.

Q I understand you are currently developing a new indie feature project with Michael Weatherly from the CBS TV show “N.C.I.S.,” which is set for 2010. Can you share a few details?
A It’s called “Solar Drive” and Michael plays a private detective searching for a missing movie star. Like all good detective stories, it’s a quest, a kind of “Alice Through The Looking Glass” journey through the strange, hidden world of behind-the-scenes Los Angeles.

I love L.A. To me it has a kind of duality: there is a real city – Los Angeles – which is interwoven and sometimes indistinguishable from a kind of dream version of itself, which is “Hollywood” – not merely the zip code, but the state of mind. I find the contrast and combination of the two very intriguing. L.A. is full of wonderful, crazy carny folk, but it’s also full of real, hardworking people just like any other major city, and in our story Michael plays a character that straddles those two worlds, and is comfortable in both.

It’s a drama, but as anyone who watches “N.C.I.S.” already knows, Michael brings a lot of humor and warmth to his characters, so expect some mischief!

“Solar Drive” – novità sul film di Michael!

Abbiamo sentito parlare di questo film qualche anno fa, ma a quanto pare questo progetto si svilupperà il prossimo anno!

Di seguito, la risposta a riguardo del regista di film indipendenti Julian West!

D: Ho capito che attualmente stai sviluppando un nuovo progetto cinematografico indipendente assieme a Michael Weatherly dallo show della CBS “NCIS”, che è in programma per il 2010. Puoi condividere cn noi qualche particolare?

R: Si intitola “Solar Drive” e Michael interpreterà un detective privato alla ricerca di una stella del cinema scomparsa. Come tutte le belle storie di detective è una ricerca, una specie di viaggio stile “Alice attraverso lo specchio”, per lo strano e nascosto mondo dietro le quinte di Los Angeles.

Amo L.A. Per me ha una specie di dualismo: c’è la vera città – Los Angeles – che è intrecciata e a volte indistinguibile da quella specie di versione da sogno di se stessa che è Hollywood – non semplicemente il codice postale ma lo stato d’animo. Trovo che il contrasto e la combinazione delle due sia molto intrigante. L.A. è piena di gente meravigliosa e pazza ma è anche piena di persone vere e gran lavoratrici come in tutte le più grandi città, e nella nostra storia Michael interpreta un personaggio che sta a cavallo tra questi due mondi ed è a suo agio in entrambi.

E’ un film drammatico, ma, come chi segue NCIS già saprà, Michael apporta molto umorismo e calore al suo personaggio quindi aspettatevi qualche monelleria.
