The world has been catapulted into chaos and Logan Cale – cyber-journalist and sly political activist – has been drawn into helping the genetically-enhanced Max. Quite a challenge. Actor Michael Weatherly says, “I thought Logan was Harrison Ford…”

Imagine reading a script for the first time and having a certain preconception in your mind about the scope and potential of one of the lead characters. Then imagine finding out that character is actually the spot you’re gunning for. That’s what happened to Michael Weatherly, who plays opposite Jessica Alba in this season’s breakout hit, Dark Angel.

Talk about debuting with a splash. Not only did Dark Angel–Fox’s hip new series from mastermind James Cameron (Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Titanic) and his producing partner Charles Eglee (Moonlighting, Murder One)–achieve top-flight ratings for its two hour premiere last November, it also just recently nabbed a People’s Choice Award for Favorite New Drama Series.

So, what’s next?

The reviews are rhapsodic, the ratings are aces, and the demographics are ideal. So it’s no surprise that the folks at Fox recently green-lit production of nine more episodes to fill out a full season of the adventures of genetically revved-up Max (Jessica Alba) and cyber-crusader Logan Cale (Michael Weatherly).

So what’s the secret of their success?

“It’s Jessica’s hair,” Weatherly jokes. “It just wins every time. The Farrah Fawcett flips are great.

Michael plays Logan, the brainiac/computer wiz (he turns it on with his eyes!) who is trying to save the world from poverty and injustice.

The audition: “It was with Jessica [Alba] and James Cameron [director of Titanic]. Not only was I terrified of screwing up in front of James, but there was this beautiful girl I had to act with. All I remember was trying not to sweat.”
